Art, Poetry, Music & an Artisan Fair
Each First Thursday of the month businesses along Centre and South Streets are transformed into galleries featuring works from local artists. Open receptions, at each location, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, offer a chance to meet the artists, enjoy refreshments, and experience JP's fabulous businesses in an entirely new light. Artworks usually remain on display for the remainder of the month.
6:00-8:00 pm: 30 art openings on Centre & South Streets, with music by John Frazee Trio on the JP Licks patio and jazz from Groove Thang on the lawn of the Loring-Greenough House. Artisan Fair featuring works by the Boston Handmade artist group, on the Curtis Hall lawn. Spontaneous Celebrations Junk Percussion Band & Stiltwalkers, a taste of Wake-Up-the-Earth Day (May 3), marching from JP Licks to the South Street Mall.
 
6:30-8:00 pm: "WORD ON THE STREET", Poetry Readings
FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH trailer, 633 Centre St. lawn
